Remedial Massage Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are Remedial Massage consults covered by insurance?

Depending on your health fund and level of cover, Remedial Massage at iThrive is eligible for rebates by our therapists by many of the health funds. We also have a HICAPS terminal so you can claim on the spot. We recommend you contact your fund today and find out if you're covered for Remedial Massage

Q: What is the difference between Remedial Massage and normal Massage Therapy?

Remedial Massage is a more focused type of massage by more qualified therapists. Remedial Massage Therapists have received additional education and training and have a thorough understanding of the musculoskeletal system and a range of soft tissue techniques to treat it.

Q: What if I just want a general relaxation massage?

If you just want a general massage to ease general muscle tightness and just to unwind, our therapists can provide this too. Just clarify with our therapist before the appointment commences and they will make sure your massage is what you want it to be.

Q: What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage is just one of the soft tissue techniques that Remedial Massage Therapists are trained to perform. It is simply a technique of Remedial Massage as is Trigger Point Therapy, PNF Stretching or taping.

Q: Is Pregnancy Massage safe?

Pregnancy Massage is extremely safe for pregnant patients. Our therapists are specifically trained to treat individuals of all body types especially pregnant patients. All soft tissue techniques are tailored to the individual and their baby and can be incredibly effective in their application.

Q: Is there available parking at your premises?

We understand that parking convenience is very important to patients and we have ensured that parking should not be a hassle when you visit our premises. We have plenty of free onsite patient parking either directly out the front of our premises or rear parking which is accessible exclusively to patients of iThrive by downloading the free iBlue app to their Smartphone or Tablet. Otherwise, if you have to use the available street parking we recommend using the free EasyPark app to eliminate the hassle involved with ticket machines.
