Our treatment protocols also involve a thorough active component including home stretches and rehabilitative exercises to improve short, middle and long-term outcomes. Initial Consult

The aim of your initial consult is to gain a thorough understanding of your presenting complaint. You will need to allow about 45 minutes to an hour to cover the following steps:

  • Thorough History

  • Postural Examination

  • Physical Examination

  • Orthopaedic Testing

  • Spinal Assessment

  • Referral for Imaging (if required)

  • Treatment (if no special testing or imaging is required)

  • Demonstration of Home Exercises and Stretches

Standard Appointment

Our standard appointment predominantly focuses on treatment as per the treatment planned discussed during the initial appointment. It is also an opportunity to reassess the outcome measures established from the initial consult. The standard appointment generally includes the following:

  • Discussion of progress

  • Reassessing Outcome Measures

  • Adjustments of the Spine and/or Extremities

  • Soft Tissue Manipulation (Trigger Point Therapy, Stretching, Heat, Taping)

Extended Appointment

The Extended Appointment is required if more extensive Soft Tissue Therapy and/or Rehabilitation is necessary. This is not often required as the majority of treatment can be complete in a standard appointment however if it is required it can be discussed between the Chiropractor and the patient. You will need to allow over 20 minutes for an Extended Appointment.
