Emma completed her Occupational Therapy degree at Te Pūkenga – Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin, New Zealand. She has completed further training in Ayres Sensory Integration® (ASI), along with professional development in emotional regulation.
Emma has a particular interest in understanding the “why” behind the challenges a child may be experiencing, looking beyond what can be seen on the surface to understand the foundational skills that may be influencing their participation and development.

Core Skills & Strengths
Emma’s key areas of interest include sensory processing and sensory regulation, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor development, dyspraxia and motor planning. Her training in Ayres Sensory Integration® complements her holistic approach to understanding the underlying skills that influence a child’s participation in everyday activities.
Emma’s calm and supportive manner, combined with her child-centred and family-focused approach, allows her to build strong therapeutic relationships while helping children work towards greater confidence, independence and engagement in the activities that matter to them.
Passion & Motivation
After graduating, Emma made the move across the Tasman to Brisbane, where she worked within a multidisciplinary paediatric team supporting children and their families. It was here that she developed her passion for paediatric Occupational Therapy and gained valuable experience working collaboratively with families and other health professionals.
Emma has since made Perth home and joins the iThrive Health Hillarys team to continue her career in paediatric Occupational Therapy.
